Explorative product management requires a clear mandate, a deep understanding for customers, a creative ideation and intensive testing of possible solutions. Only the interaction of all 4 elements allows for agile, customer centric product management.

The 2-day training covers all relevant methods in the phases mandate, understand, ideation and tests and shows how they need to interact on the way to developing successful products based on many practical exercises.

Mandate

What is the target, which constraints must be taken into consideration and why should we do what at all? Without a clear mandate and alignment with stakeholders, explorative product management will end in chaos. Auftragsklärung is a simple method to get clarity for oneself and all affected stakeholders to know what should be built and WHY.

Understand

Sometimes it is difficult to tell who the customer, but it is always hard to identify real problems and needs of customers. The best way is to find out is to get in direct contact with (potential) customers by using structured interviews.

Ideation

Too often projects start with a very concrete solution. If there is a bit more time to dug into problems and needs of customer, it will become obvious that there are many possible solutions. Design Studio is an effective way to find valuable solutions for almost any problem. Contrary to common fuzzy brainstorming sessions Design Studio offers a clear framework and process for teams to generate a lot of ideas and then fine-tune and combine the best options to concrete prototypes.

Tests

All solutions are full of uncertainties. Identifying critical aspects is crucial to run the right experiments at the right time to learn fast what works – and what does not.
